“The College is a secular institution committed to the pursuit of learning. It does not ally itself with any particular faith. It does however commit itself to an active support for the study and celebration of mainstream religious faiths within its community, recognizing that such celebration is a source of individual strength, communal resource and intellectual and artistic excellence.” College Council 2006 More
College reaches out to support staff and students’ faith needs in two ways.
The College Chaplaincy
A Christian Chaplaincy with a long history that is closely connected with the College’s beautiful chapel. The College Chaplains support all forms of Christian observance - both formal and informal - within the College; encourage all Christian groups to work together within our covenant; sponsor a range of lectures and special services and seek to reach out to every student and staff member – whatever their faith!
The Faiths Council
Seeking to link itself to all the mainstream faith groups, the Faiths Counsel seeks to ensure that each faith has a voice at RHUL and to sponsor additional interfaith events to encourage dialogue and debate between the faiths.
